Three Days on Two Wheels: the Phuket Rider’s Itinerary

One day shows you Phuket; three days show you why southern Thailand is a riding destination in its own right. This itinerary stacks the island loop, the karst country of Phang Nga and a final-day choice between jungle and coast.

Built for a 300cc+ bike; adaptable down to a 160cc with more patience and earlier starts.

Day 1: the island, properly

Ride the full 130 km Phuket loop — west coast north, Sarasin Bridge, east side south, Old Town lunch, Big Buddha, Promthep sunset. It calibrates you to the bike and Thai roads before the longer days, ends at your own hotel, and leaves the tank ready for an early Day 2 start.

Day 2: Phang Nga karst country

The Samet Nangshe sunrise mission extended into a full day: viewpoint at dawn, Phang Nga Town coffee, then the bay backroads east — James Bond Island viewpoints from the land side, mangrove piers, zero coaches. Sleep in Phang Nga or push to Krabi's Ao Nang (2 more hours) to set up Day 3. Distances: 200–280 km depending on ambition.

Day 3: the decision

Option A — Khao Sok: north into Thailand's oldest rainforest, limestone walls over the road, lake viewpoint, then the long sweep home (320 km total — the big-bike day). Option B — Krabi coast: Ao Nang, the Tiger Cave temple ride, and the ferry-free coastal return via Phang Nga (260 km, more stops, more swimming). Either way you roll back into Phuket understanding why riders base themselves here for whole seasons.
