Chalong is Phuket's big-bike country. The roads out of Chalong Circle lead straight to the Big Buddha climb, the east-coast backroads and — over Sarasin Bridge — the karst landscapes of Phang Nga, which is why we position our adventure and touring fleet here. Free delivery covers the whole Chalong basin, from the pier to Kata Hill's eastern side.

If you are licensed for it, this is where the Africa Twin, R 1250 GS and Versys 650 earn their keep: Khao Sok is three hours, Krabi four, and the Samet Nangshe sunrise viewpoint a 90-minute dawn run. Staying local? The CB650R makes the Big Buddha switchbacks sing, and the Rebel 500 suits the boat-crowd cruise between the pier, Nikita's and the Wat Chalong temple road.

Notes for riders: the Big Buddha road's last kilometre has 20% ramps — use engine braking down, brakes overheat here every week on rentals from lesser shops (ours get fresh pads and fluid on schedule). Fuel up at the PTT just north of Chalong Circle before any Phang Nga day trip, and carry your licence: the Circle checkpoint is the busiest on the island.

Chalong Rental FAQs

For anything over 400cc we require a full motorcycle licence from your home country or an IDP with the A category. For 500cc+ adventure bikes we also ask to see riding experience — it protects you as much as the bike.

Yes — Phang Nga, Krabi and Khao Sok day trips are allowed on all big bikes at no extra charge. Just tell us your route so the insurance paperwork matches, and take the bike's green book copy we provide.

Yes if you respect the gradient: the final ramps hit 20%. Ride up in low revs, come down on engine braking, and avoid the road in heavy rain. Two-up on a 110cc is the one combination we advise against.
