Patong traffic is dense and slow, so the sweet spot here is a light automatic scooter: a Honda Click or Scoopy slips through the beach-road crawl and parks anywhere, while a PCX 160 or NMAX adds comfort for the daily run over the hill to Kamala or Karon. Parking tip: the free scooter rows along Rat-U-Thit fill by noon — use the side-soi spots near Jungceylon instead.
From Patong you are 15 minutes over the viewpoint hill from Kamala, 20 minutes from Karon and about 45 minutes from both Old Phuket Town and the airport road. Fuel is easiest at the PTT on Phra Barami Road; a full scooter tank costs about ฿60 and covers two days of beach-hopping.
