About this Yamaha
The R15 is Yamaha's R-Series in miniature: VVA 155cc, slipper clutch, R7-inspired bodywork and surprisingly fast lap times.
Rented from our Chalong base, the Yamaha R15 is a sport / supersport with a 155cc engine producing 19 hp @ 10,000 rpm. It returns around 40 km/L, so a single tank goes a long way between Phuket's beaches, viewpoints and night markets.
It is ideal for newer riders who want a proper R-Series experience at small-bike pace. Every BikesPhuket bike is fully serviced, sanitised and supplied with two helmets, basic insurance and free delivery to your hotel. Pay by the day, week or month - the longer you ride, the more you save.
Where to Ride the Yamaha R15 in Phuket
Phuket's smooth southern loops give the Yamaha R15 room to breathe - short straights, banked corners and enough elevation change to keep things interesting. Ride early (06:30-08:30) for empty roads and cool air.
Sarasin Bridge and Mai Khao: a flat, fast 40 km northern run along the airport beach - watch planes land 50 metres overhead.
Banana Beach hidden cove: the steep concrete access path north of Bang Tao rewards confident riders with Phuket's least crowded sand.
Collect the bike at our Patong office or get free delivery to your hotel anywhere between Patong, Kata, Karon, Rawai, Phuket Town and Chalong.

Rental FAQs
How old do I need to be and what documents are required to rent the Yamaha R15?
You must be at least 18. Please bring your passport and a valid driving licence - ideally an International Driving Permit endorsed for motorcycles. We hold either a passport copy or a refundable cash/card deposit for the duration of the rental.
Do I legally need a motorcycle licence to ride in Thailand?
Yes. Thai law requires a motorcycle licence or an IDP with the motorcycle category. Police checkpoints are common around Phuket, and your travel insurance may not be valid without the correct licence. A helmet is compulsory for both rider and passenger.
Are helmets and insurance included with the Yamaha R15?
Every rental includes two helmets and basic third-party insurance at no extra cost. Optional full damage cover is available, which lowers both your excess and the security deposit. Just ask us when you book.
Can you deliver the Yamaha R15 to my hotel?
Yes - we offer free delivery and collection within Chalong. Delivery to the airport or other beaches across the island is available for a small fee. Send us your hotel name and rental dates and we will bring the bike to you, fuelled and sanitised.
What is the fuel and damage policy?
The Yamaha R15 comes with enough fuel to reach a station; please return it with a similar level. A refundable security deposit of ฿5,000 applies and is returned in full when the bike is handed back undamaged.
